I’m still alive and kicking, HOLLA! OMG I have been without power in my apartment for Saturday night. My fiance called me at 1 a.m. Sunday morning and asked if the power was out at my place and I woke up from a sound, deep, peaceful sleep to the horror of no power, no electricity, no air conditioning, nothing but pitch black darkness. I battled the heat as long as I could before finding a hotel clear out of town (over an hour away!) because all the local hotels were booked, even in the suburbs surrounding the city I live in! My friends and family were without power too so I had no one to stay with. Red Cross launched a cooling station/shelter for those in need but their beds were full too so I caved and forked over the money for a hotel. Then at 4:15 p.m. today, my manager of my apartment complex texted saying the power was back on so I booked a ride out of that tiny shit hole town and found my way back home! I missed my cat SO much. Luckily, my friend Andrew dropped by to feed him. He was such a happy boy when I got home (my cat, not Andrew! LOL). Ugh, it just feels so good to walk inside of a cold apartment. SO HAPPY!!!!
